Hi @Srich863,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Troubleshooting a computer that won't power on can involve several potential issues. Here are some steps you can take to identify and potentially resolve the problem.

Check Power Connection:

  • Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the computer and the power outlet.
  • Try using a different power outlet to rule out issues with the current outlet.

Power Supply Issues:

  • Check if the power supply unit (PSU) is functioning. If possible, test it with a known working PSU.
  • Look for any signs of damage or overheating on the power supply.

Hardware Connections:

  • Make sure all internal hardware components (RAM, CPU, GPU, etc.) are properly seated in their respective slots.
  • Reseat the RAM modules and other expansion cards.

External Devices:

  • Disconnect all external devices (USB devices, printers, etc.) and see if the computer powers on without them.
  • Faulty external devices can sometimes cause power issues.

Power Button:

  • Check the power button on the computer for any physical damage. Sometimes, the power button itself may be faulty.

Motherboard and CPU:

  • Inspect the motherboard for any visible damage, such as burnt areas or damaged capacitors.
  • Ensure that the CPU is properly seated in its socket.

Power Strip/Surge Protector:

  • If you're using a power strip or surge protector, try plugging the computer directly into a wall outlet to rule out issues with the power strip.

BIOS/CMOS Reset:

  • Reset the BIOS/CMOS settings. This can typically be done by removing the CMOS battery from the motherboard for a few minutes and then reinserting it.

Test with Minimal Hardware:

  • Disconnect unnecessary hardware components and peripherals. Try booting the computer with only essential components (CPU, RAM, and motherboard).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
