HP x2301 micro tin led monitor
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

hi everyone, I have a serious issue here, so I have this hp x2301 tin led monitor here. and the issue is that whenever I do things on the pc like playing games, browsing the web or doing school work, the screen randomly shuts to a black screen following with a message in the center saying 'monitor going to sleep'. and when it's 'sleeping', I can't wake it up unless if I power off the computer and doing a hard restart. but when I put the monitor into sleep mode (just by going to start menu) I can wake it up, np.

my specs are Intel I5 2400, Nvidia Geforce GT520. oh, and btw it 'crashes' faster when I play games, like 2 minutes into playing.

I hope yall can help me. thanks.

@Robin_5X  Welcome to HP Forums Community!

This may happen when the screen resolution is too high, I suggest you update the graphics card, and the BIOS: Click here to update to the latest version, once done, please decrease the resolution and check if that helps,

These messages are normal when the computer truly goes into sleep mode or loses the video signal (such as when the computer is turned off). However, if the monitor displays any of these messages when the computer should be displaying video, something is wrong.

If you suspect the monitor should be displaying an image from the PC instead of the message, use one of the following sections that match how the monitor behaves after the computer is powered on:

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)
