HP M27fwa FHD Monitor
Microsoft Windows 11

New HP M27fwa FHD monitor.  The maximum speaker sound level is very low.  Problem or normal?  Seems way too low for listening to music.

Hi @bonobo43,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP M27fwa is a Full HD monitor that comes with built-in speakers. If you find that the maximum speaker sound level is very low and insufficient for listening to music, there are a few things you can check and consider.

Monitor Settings:

  • Ensure that the monitor's volume settings are at their maximum. Most monitors have on-screen menus where you can adjust various settings, including audio settings.
  • Check if there are any specific audio presets or modes that might affect the volume.

Computer Sound Settings:

  • Verify that your computer's sound settings are properly configured. Check both the system volume and the application-specific volume settings.
  • Make sure that the audio output is set to the monitor if you are using HDMI or DisplayPort for both video and audio transmission.

Driver Updates:

  • Ensure that your computer's audio drivers are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues with audio playback.

External Speakers or Headphones:

  • Consider using external speakers or headphones for a better audio experience. The built-in speakers on monitors are often not designed for high-quality audio playback.

Additional Audio Devices:

  • If you have other audio devices connected to your computer, such as external speakers or headphones, make sure they are working properly and not interfering with the monitor's audio.

It's also worth noting that built-in monitor speakers are generally not known for providing high-quality sound, and they may not be suitable for demanding audio tasks such as music listening. If audio quality is a priority, investing in external speakers or headphones designed for music playback might be a better option.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
