The monitor will turn on for a few seconds, then go black. It also has this weird effect; as it gets to the right of the screen, it will get darker. I already took out and replaced the CMOS, checked the RAM, and reset it. I do not have another monitor or cable to test with. It's telling me to check the video cable. What can I do to fix it?

It also has a box when it starts that says something about the VBG and DVI (which I do not have), and has a red, blue, then green bar at the bottom. it will show everything until about 2 seconds in, where it goes black again.

@Duke_Wilson, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Monitor Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Check Video Cable:
- Make sure the video cable connecting your monitor to your computer is securely connected. A loose connection can cause flickering or a blank screen.
Test with Different Ports:
- If possible, try connecting the monitor to a different video output port on your computer (like HDMI, VGA, DVI, etc.) to rule out port-related issues.
Adjust Display Settings:
- Access the display settings on your computer to check if they are configured correctly for your monitor. Sometimes, incorrect display settings can cause display issues.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Ensure that the graphics drivers on your computer are up-to-date. Visit the manufacturer's website for your graphics card to download the latest drivers.
Power Cycle the Monitor:
- Unplug the monitor from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
External Testing:
- If you acquire another monitor or cable, try using them to determine if the issue is specific to your monitor or the current cable.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
