Thank you for replying.

Changing resolution didn't help. This is the first thing i tried.

Chaging to different resolutions makes the icons and taskbar appear bigger, but didn't change their relative positions. They still fall outside the screen.

When the icons and taskbar are bigger, more can be seen because they're bigger. But they're still got cut off at the edges.

What monitor do you have ??

Do you have nvidia?

If u have nvidia you can:

1. Open nvidia control panel

2. select under display tab "Adjust desktop size and position"

3. select size tab

4. tick box in section 2 "enable desktop resizing"

5. Click resize and move till the arrows look correct

Thanks for replying. I don't have a Nvida monitor.  My monitor is a Sharp Aquos.

I'm guessing that the solution would be an installation of a video driver. I just don't know how to do that. For example, i don't know what driver would be required.

Unfortunately, i don't have a NVidia card. I have their main competitative one: AMD graphics card.

In any case, thanks for repying.

To further shed light to my issue. I have restart the PC, and press F10 to get to my BIOS screen.

Attached is the screen, which also shows that the screen is also slightly bigger than my windows, or in this case, DOS screen. As you can see, the top and bottom of the DOS screen fall outside the monitor. So this isn't a Windows issue.

But this monitor is working fine for my old PC. This issue only occurs since i hook it up my new HP Slimline box. It's rather puzzling.

I have an hp vh24 and I had the same issue. If there are buttons on your monitor, use them and navigate to image control, then auto adjustment. It worked for me.
