Input Signal out of range

Hi, 

I'm currently using  laptop HP 1620 and bought new  HP V194 monitor. It seems that my laptop resolution (1280 x 720) is not compatible with the 2nd monitor (1366 x 768). I have tried to change the display settings but still not working. Can you help.

this PC is not HP, HP did not own COMPAQ in year 1999 so is Compaq PC. relic.

wow w10 runs on 20 year old PC wow,

not new but NEW OLD STOCK,  gee VGA only monitors  still made>? sure NOS.

the monitor spec shows. VGA only.  V1 monitor is 2016

how is 2 monitors ever connected to 1 laptop.? This is what works,  a table like this implies , only this allowed (matrix)

new 2020made , new old stock, refurbs, and used,

on this vintage PC the Fn +F3 key turns on the external VGA port. (new HP are Fn+F4) the key ICON is clue#1

there are no 2 VGA ports here.

for 2 VGA monitors with same presentation (why) one needs monitor with VGA output jack and input.

or buy VGA buffer  box, in the old days had to make my own, but now are sold.

or unplugged 1st monitor and jacked in 2nd monitor new and it fails

well reboot. if you reboot , the OS will PnP the new monitor and will work , for sure be internet  connected.

but W10 does no like this old PC, never ever, many chips inside will be dead or limp home mode for sure GPU chip.

in device manager, see Display card, see those funny words there?

tell more have lots of cures,  even buffer boxes for old VGA is easy and sold cheap now.

you said laptop posted to desktop but..... that be Compaq. for laptop.

if is a desktop it be this? I can not guess what PC you have I am so sorry.

1620 is CPU name not PC.

HP 1620-24G Switch (nop)

the Z420 I could put vast GPU cards inside and do any thing I choose.
