Hello,
I need a graphics card for my PC, an HP ProDesk 400 G7 Microtower PC (9CY18AV). I’d like to install the PNY RTX A1000 8GB GDDR6 Smallbox. Is it possible to use it without upgrading the power supply, or would I need a larger one? If so, which power supply would be compatible with my PC?
I found a used one: Power Supply HP PA-3401-1HA 400Watt 4+4+7+6. Would that be suitable?

Hi @czc116bgq3
Yes you can use it, it is a 50 Watt TDP card and a 250 Watt power supply is enough, and you have a 400 watt power supply, it is enough.

I'm sorry, but I didn't understand that! So I need at least a 250-watt power supply, or preferably 400W. However, HP's hotline told me that the motherboard could be damaged if I use a 400W power supply. The original one has 180W. As you can see in the photo, will this one work or not?

You should change the power supply, with that power supply you will be very limited.

Hi @czc116bgq3
These models come with a 350 watt power supply, use the part number to find a reseller.

no, you need a 450 watt power supply, better if it is 550 watt, and it does not exist for your model.

That depends, if you don't want to change the power supply use the following one recommended by HP for this model
AMD® Radeon™ RX 550X 4GB DP+HDMI
HP ProDesk 400 G6 DM / AIO - G7 MT / SFF
