HP Compaq 6005 SFF PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

This machine came with ATI 4200 integrated graphics. The "HP Setup (F10) Utility Guide" for this computer says that it will support both a separate PCI graphics card and the on-board graphics if the card is installed in the PCI Express X16 expansion slot and the expansion card is also ATI. It further says that some settings may need to be changed in the BIOS in order to use both graphics adapters. It refers to getting into the BIOS set-up under Advanced ---Device Options-- and setting Integrated Video to Enabled to allow using both the Video Expansion Card and the Integrated Video at the same time. I have installed an ATI/AMD RADEON HD3450 card in the PCI Express X16 slot and installed it's driver. The card works but now the two onboard video ports (VGA and Displayport) are dead. I went into the BIOS Setup menu as described above and the Integrated Video setting is not there. (My objective is to have more monitors for business work, not gaming.) The ATI card I installed supports dual monitors. I was hoping that I'd end up with 4 hot monitor ports.  Do I need to upgrade the BIOS? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi:

Can you let me know exactly where you are seeing that info?

When I look at this guide, on your PC's support page, I only see references to a PCI card (not PCI express) being able to be used with the onboard graphics.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01870957

PCI VGA Configuration Displayed only if there are one or more PCI graphics controllers in the system and the integrated video is enabled. Allows you to specify which VGA controller will be the “boot” or primary VGA controller.
NOTE: In order to see this entry, you must enable Integrated Video (Advanced > Device Options) and Save Changes and Exit.

I also see this reference with regard to the display port...

PCIe x16 Slot. This option allows using the x16 PCIe slot in an 8-lane mode with the DispalyPort connector on the motherboard or in a full 16-lane mode without DisplayPort.
