It specs

No, it does not have Firewire hardware. It only has

  • Front:1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate; 4 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 headphone/microphone combo
  • Rear:4 USB 2.0 Type-A; 1 audio-in; 1 audio-out; 1 microphone; 1 RJ-45

It does NOT have any spare Expansion slots for you to add a Firewire card. People say you can use USB adapter but I tested 3 of them and they did not work. I bought an old Dell Latitute E6400 which has Firewire port to I transferred 57 mini tapes (y2005 to y2008) to computer last year after finding a right cable  (the connector on my Dell is physically larger than the connector on my DV cam)

Regards.

Banhein,  Thank you for your response.  My particular unit does have an additional port.  I tried taking a Firewire connection from an old HP8400 Work Station, but the pins don't line up.  Probably because a "Work Station" may not be compatible with desk top.  The investment for new firewire connection is only $20. so I'm going to give it a shot.  Again, thank you for responding.
