Hi @Suryabonam1122 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP 15.6-inch Laptop PC 15-fc0000 is experiencing a display issue after a recent update. A white line on the display could be caused by a software or hardware issue.

Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Restart Your Laptop

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches, especially after updates.

2. Check for Display Driver Updates

  • After a Windows update, display drivers may become outdated or incompatible.
  • Open Device Manager:
    • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display adapters, right-click your display driver, and choose Update driver.
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • If the latest drivers are installed, but the issue persists, consider rolling back the display driver:
    • Right-click the display driver, select Properties, go to the Driver tab, and click Roll Back Driver (if available).

3. Run Display Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings → System → Display → Advanced display settings.
  • Look for any recommendations related to display settings.
  • You can also try using the Windows troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters, then run the Display troubleshooter.

4. Check in Safe Mode

  • Boot your laptop in Safe Mode to see if the issue is still present. If the line disappears in Safe Mode, it may indicate a driver or software issue.
    • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and under the Boot tab, check Safe Boot.
    • Restart your laptop to boot into Safe Mode.

5. Check for Physical Display Damage

  • Inspect your screen for any signs of physical damage. A white line could indicate hardware damage such as a loose display connector or a faulty screen.

6. Perform a System Restore

  • If the issue started after a specific update, you can use System Restore to revert to a point before the issue occurred.
    • Go to Settings → System → About → System Protection and click System Restore.

I hope this helps.
