Hi @Dileep122,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop's display is not showing anything but the power light is on and the Caps Lock button is blinking, it could indicate a hardware issue or a problem with the system's firmware. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect all external devices.
- Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reinsert the battery (if removed) and plug in the power adapter.
- Turn on the laptop.
Check for Beep Codes or Blink Codes:
- The blinking of the Caps Lock key can be a diagnostic code. Count the number of blinks between pauses and check the pattern against HP's documentation for your specific model. This can help identify the specific issue.
Connect to an External Monitor:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI or VGA cable.
- If the external monitor displays your desktop, the issue might be with the laptop's screen or display cable.
Reseat RAM:
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect all external devices.
- Remove the battery and power adapter.
- Open the back panel of the laptop to access the RAM modules.
- Carefully remove the RAM modules and reinsert them to ensure they are seated properly.
- Reassemble the laptop, reconnect the battery, and power it on.
Reset BIOS Settings:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but keep holding the Windows + B keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the BIOS settings to default.
Update BIOS:
- If you can access the laptop using an external monitor or another method, check if there is a BIOS update available on the HP support website for your specific laptop model.
- Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the BIOS.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
