@Sana1111, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Screen Lines on HP Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're experiencing green lines on your screen that increase over time, this could indicate a hardware issue or a problem with your graphics drivers. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Restart Your Laptop

  • Restart your laptop to see if the issue persists. Occasionally, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches.

Step 2: Update Graphics Drivers

  • Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can cause display issues. Follow these steps to update your graphics drivers:
    1. Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand the Display adapters section.
    3. Right-click on your graphics card and select Update driver.
    4. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install any available updates.

Step 3: Check for Display Issues in Safe Mode

  • Boot your laptop in Safe Mode to determine if the issue is caused by software or hardware.
    1. Restart your laptop.
    2. As it restarts, press F8 repeatedly.
    3. Select Safe Mode from the Advanced Boot Options menu.
    4. Observe if the lines still appear in Safe Mode. If not, it might be a software-related issue.

Step 4: Connect to an External Monitor

  • Connecting to an external monitor can help isolate the issue. If the external monitor displays correctly, the issue might be with your laptop's screen or internal connections.
    1. Connect your laptop to an external monitor using a compatible cable (HDMI, VGA, etc.).
    2. Press Windows key + P and select Duplicate or Extend.

Step 5: Reset Graphics Drivers

  • Resetting your graphics driver can resolve display issues.
    1. Press Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B. This will refresh the graphics driver.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
