My husband and I each have an HP 23xw monitor hooked up to our macbook air laptops. The HDMI connectors are identical. They have worked great for the past year or two, but now the image on my husband's monitor does not fill the display (it has about an inch of black surrounding it on all sides). I have tried changing display settings on the Mac as well as all of the menu buttons on the bottom of the HP monitor with no success. In searching I see a resolution to this for Windows but not Mac. I understand that HP does not support Mac but there must be some reason mine works fine and my husband's does not. I would appreciate any advice on fixing this!

Thanks for posting. It is a terrific place to find answers and tips!
I understand that you are unable to get the full screen on HP 23xw monitor when connected to MacBook.
I would like to assist you.
I would recommend you to try connecting the display which has the issue, to your husband's laptop and check if it work's fine.
If yes, then it is a glitch with the settings in the Macbook
I request you to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
Keep me posted.
