Meanwhile, you can try these steps.

Check connections

Reseat the adapter firmly on both ends.

Try a different port if available.

 

Test adapter

Use the adapter with another monitor or device to confirm if it works.

 

Update drivers

Install the latest GPU drivers from HP or NVIDIA/AMD/Intel.

 

Change monitor input

Ensure the monitor is set to the correct input (HDMI, DP, etc.).

 

Try alternate adapter

If possible, test with another certified adapter to rule out hardware fault.
