I've owned an HP 27ES monitor for a few years now. It is a simple monitor with no audio or anything like that, just display.

However, it has suddenly stopped displaying anything when other devices are plugged in EXCEPT when I use a an iPhone-to-HDMI adapter with my iPhone. That is the only thing it works with. My PS5 and laptop no longer display. I tested the PS5 on my home's TV and it worked fine, both video and audio. However, plugging in these devices to my HP monitor yields no results other than the monitor detecting that there is something plugged in but only saying "Input signal not found. Display going to sleep".

Please help!

Hi @MomoKhaw,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 27ES monitor has suddenly stopped displaying anything when other devices are plugged in, except when you use an iPhone-to-HDMI adapter with your iPhone, there could be several potential causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to try to resolve the problem.

  • Check Cables and Connections: Ensure that all cables, including the HDMI cable, are securely connected to both the monitor and the device you are trying to connect. Sometimes, loose or damaged cables can result in a loss of display.
  • Test with Different Devices: To rule out potential issues with the other devices you're trying to connect, test the monitor with multiple devices (e.g., a laptop, gaming console, or another computer). This will help determine if the problem is with the monitor or the devices themselves.
  • Check the Monitor Input Source: Make sure that the monitor is set to the correct input source. Most monitors have multiple input options (e.g., HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort). Use the monitor's on-screen menu to select the appropriate input source.
  • Reset the Monitor: Try resetting the monitor to its default settings. This can often be done through the monitor's menu. Refer to your monitor's user manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Update Firmware/Drivers: If your monitor has firmware that can be updated, consider checking for updates and applying them if available. Additionally, ensure that your graphics drivers on the connected devices are up to date.
  • Test on Another Monitor: If possible, try connecting the devices that are not working with your HP 27ES monitor to a different monitor to see if they display properly. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the monitor or the devices.
  • Perform a Factory Reset: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try performing a factory reset on the monitor. This will return the monitor to its original settings. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
