Monitor Screen Issue

The screen on my monitor recently began to show images of diagonal lines across the screen which now block out the entire screen so the monitor is not usable. Is this a monitor problem or a PC issue? Can it be fixed or do I need to replace the monitor or the PC?

In rare cases, it will be fixable..
provided I think I am able to do it myself, which will not be easy, on the one hand identify the element
find the part, have the tools etc!
Going through a professional can be quite expensive
I would advise getting quotes if possible, and depending if it's the screen, it will probably need to be replaced.
