I have an HPM24fw FHD Monitor. I ordered it directly from HP. ON the bottom is a sticker with the serial number - it literally says "Serial No:" and there is then a barcode with a 10 digit code underneath. To the far right of that code is also an S that sits alone. There are no 0's or O's in the serial number. There are two 1's, which I can tell are indeed 1's, because the Product Number has an I in it so it's clear how an I looks different from a 1. When I am putting in the serial number on the HP site to try to get support, it is telling me the serial number is invalid. I have tried it with and without the S at the end. I have tried it in all caps and lowercase. I have tried to insert the product number just in case for some reason that's what they're looking for. In all instances, I just get the serial number invalid error. I have no idea what to do next and am honestly feeling like this is some sort of deterrent to prevent people from getting support! Any suggestions? (Please don't send me the site to find the serial number... I've found it. It's not working!)

@Evinnc, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I completely understand how frustrating it can be to run into a "Serial Number Invalid" message—especially when you’ve triple-checked everything on the monitor label.
Let's walk through the possible causes and solutions:
Confirm the Serial Number Format
- HP monitor serial numbers are typically 10 characters (alphanumeric) and do not include spaces, hyphens, or the standalone "S" you mentioned at the end.
- Example format: 3CM1234ABC
- The "S" you see is often just a manufacturing code or revision marker and not part of the serial number. Please exclude it.
Use HP Warranty Check Page
- Use this official HP tool:
Official HP® Warranty Check - United States | HP® Support - Enter only the 10-character serial number (excluding the “S”).
- For the Country/Region, select your actual region of purchase.
- If the issue persists here as well, proceed to the next step.
Double-check the Serial Number via On-Screen Display (OSD)
Some HP monitors allow you to view product information through the monitor’s menu:
- Use the OSD buttons (usually on the bottom or side edge).
- Navigate to “Information” or “Product Info”.
- Cross-check the serial number and product number displayed on screen.
This is a good way to ensure the label hasn’t faded or printed incorrectly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
