My wife purchased an HP 25 in IPS back liot monitor for me. It is not compatable with my older HP Pavilion p66010f desktop. It does not have HDMI campability. Can I upgrade my current PC in order to use this new monitor or, should I return it?

What is wierd, I cannot find any info for either of those model numbers posted. But, if what is wanted is HDMI output for the monitor, then a graphics card upgrade would probably resolve that isse. Need a better model number for the PC and some additional info for the monitor.

OK, I found the PC but not from your posted link. It can support the monitor with a DVI-D to HDMI adapter or you can add a simple graphics card that has HDMI support. Similar to this device: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-DVI-D-Single-Female-adapter/dp/B001VKQR5U
The monitor model number does not bring anything but I found this, is this it? http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-pavilion-25xw-25-inch-ips-led-backlit-monitor?jumpid=ba_r329_hhocse...
It states that monitor can support VGA and HDMI
