HP Recommended

I recently purchased the HP 24mh monitor through Amazon. It worked fine with my laptop and a second monitor initially then went dark.  It often blinks when I plug it into the laptop of docking station but does not light up/turn on even though the power is on. Any advice would be so appreciated! Thank you.
