Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good day - i normally close down my PC at night; when I start it in the morning the monitor can take 7 minutes to "wake up", show the Windows 10 pretty picture and ask for my password; the PC appears to be working whilst the screen is bblank as when it does come on it has downloaded all the overnight e mails etc. If the PC is left overnight in sleep mode the monitor takes about 1-2 minutes to come on; if the computer is left during the day and goes to sleep automatically the screen comes back on after a couple of seconds. The PC itself is working fine. Any thoughts on where the problems lies please? No recent software or driver changes but there was a big Windows 10 update shortly before this started to happen. I am not sure if my Windows 10 is 32 or 64 bit.

Thanks

Hi @antonovman,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the monitor takes time to wake up when you restart the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • How is the monitor connected to your PC?
  • What is the model/product number for your tower?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the bios and the graphics driver on your computer and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
