I have had this monitor for almost 7 years. It has functioned normally up until this week. I started to have problems with the monitor turning off. However the simple fix was just to unplug and plug in the power cable into the port and it would work for a bit. It has gotten worse everyday, yesterday I had to do it every 10 mins and it took awhile to connect. Now, I cannot get the monitor to stay powered. I can push kinda hard and hold the cable perfectly in the port for a sec but once I let go, it turns off. Is this a simple issue I can fix or do I need to get a new monitor?

It seems like the power-socket is breaking-away from the motherboard inside the monitor, resulting in an intermittent connection. If you can find a "board-level" electronic technician, it may be possible for the technician to repair that connection. But, the hourly-rate for such "labour" is probably 50% of the cost of a replacement monitor. So, it's your choice whether to "repair" or "replace". I think that any successful "repair" will be good for several years.
