HP 2311x
Microsoft Windows 11

I have been using an older HP 2311x monitor on a newer computer. About a month ago there were some BIOS updates, plus Windows and driver updates. About the same time, I started having problems with my monitor. Everything would be fine when I would first start my desktop, but after about 10 minutes, the monitor would go black and then come back on. The power indicator on the monitor would also show a lack of power. As time progresses, these incidents would become more frequent, especially in an online game I play and in Windows desktop. It never happened in Windows default email program and rarely in Microsoft Edge. It would get so bad that the screen would be on a second or less and off for 5 seconds continuously. Long story short, after much angst, I figured out it needed a different monitor. Okay, did that. My question is if anyone has a guess whether my old monitor was actually defective, or the (brick) power supply that powered it?
