VH240a 23.8 inch monitor

Hello,

I have two VH240a external monitors that I have been using for years now. Yesterday morning it would not receive signal from my Lenovo laptop. It could recognize when it was plugged in, but would fall asleep saying no input was found. I have tried all combinations of plugging/unplugging in the HDMI cable, checked the docking station/dongle, switched USB-C ports, plugging it in and out of the wall...and so on. Is this a known issue? How can I resolve this?

If both monitors went out at the same time then I suspect a loss of signal strength from the laptop.

You mentioned USB-C but those monitors a VGA and HDMI.

If you used a  USB-C to HDMI adapter you need to verify the Lenovo USB-C is a thunderbolt port that is capable of video.

I had as similar situation when I replaced a GTX-1060 with a GTX-1070tI.   I had to run the HDMI cable directly to the TV. I could no longer go through the HDMI switch, a panel feed-through and a right angle HDMI adapter.  I tried several drivers and different options but the new board did not put out the signal level the older board had.  They were both eVga graphic cards.

You might try rolling back the drivers on the Lenovo if the problem occurred after a windows update.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I'm still confused as to what happened. I have not changed any of my HDMI cables (I misspoke before) and my last windows update happened on 7/10. The last time I was able to successfully use my monitors was on 7/26.

7/26 was a major update requiring a restart of windows, are you sure you did not get that update?

if it was installed, you can uninstall it.

It would be unusual, but not impossible, for both monitors to go bad at the same time.

Connect one of the monitors using the same HDMI cable to a set-top box:  cable tv, xbox,  Playstation, anthing to see if is still works.  if it works on any other device then ask over at Lenovo about the problem.
