My hp M27F monitor won't  come on. I keep getting a check the video cable and video sources message.  All cables are connected and in good condition.

@NATK30, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP M27f monitor is displaying a “Check the video cable and video source” message even though all cables appear to be connected and in good condition. Let’s walk through some steps to help resolve this issue:

Check Input Source

  • Press the Menu button on the monitor.
  • Navigate to Input Source and ensure the correct input (HDMI or VGA) is selected based on your connection.

Inspect the Video Cable and Ports

  • Unplug and firmly reconnect the video cable (HDMI or VGA) on both the monitor and the PC.
  • Try a different HDMI/VGA cable if available.
  • Inspect the ports for any bent pins or debris.

Test with Another Device

  • Connect the monitor to a different PC or laptop using the same cable.
  • If the monitor works, the issue may be with your original PC’s video output.

Check PC Video Output

  • If using a desktop, ensure the cable is connected to the graphics card (if present) and not the motherboard.
  • Try booting the PC into BIOS (usually by pressing F10, DEL, or ESC during startup) to see if any display appears.

Power Cycle the Monitor

  • Turn off the monitor and unplug it from power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Factory Reset the Monitor

  • Press the Menu button → Go to Management → Select Factory Reset

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
