I am having trouble turning my monitor on. When I hit the power button, the light doesn't come on, nothing happens. I don't know if I need a power supply cable for my monitor but I need help figuring out what to do and how to turn it back on so I can do my college work. I used it last semester, but I don't recall using a power supply cable at all in order to keep the monitor on. Please help!

Hello
I do not understand everything you indicate
You mention the power cable.
When you plug in a display, you have the cable which is connected to the hdmi dvi vga graphics card.
but for it to be powered, you either have a cable that connects to the screen, or it is a small transformer, power supply box!
You must therefore have the screen plugged in one way or another into an electrical outlet!
if not, it cannot turn on
as shown in fig 3 and 4
