Hi, the TouchSmart 520 (-1010uk) does not have an hdmi port so I could not use it as an external monitor. I have heard there are such things as usb to hdmi adapters but i am not sure is this would solve my problem. If you happen to know an usb adapter that would allow me to turn this pc into a monitor then that would help a lot. Thanks for your time.

Hi@Wbb2004, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Nearly all HP Pavilion notebooks don't have a docking port therefore you can't get a docking station for your machine or for HP TouchSmart 520. The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03045018
which shows it has
- 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only);
- 1 AC smart pin;
- 1 HDMI 1.4b;
- 1 headphone/microphone combo;
- 1 RJ-45
As you can see, its USB-C port does NOT support video out. At this stage, a docking station using USB-A ports still is a good choice. If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors, please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few options on market today including some HP products:

or try following HP docks

Keep me posted. Happy to help!
