Chromebook at symbol is not working, apparently it has something to do with the last update, it comes up as this instead "

@Jackie116 -- the operating system has support for multiple keyboards that are physically different.

For example, the keyboard supplied for computers purchased in Germany produces a "z" when you press the "q" key that you find on the "US" keyboard.

For example, on Microsoft Windows, there are what Microsoft calls "multiple input methods".

If you hold-down the "Windows" key on the keyboard, and then tap the "spacebar", Windows will switch from the US keyboard layout to your alternate layout (Swedish? German? Turkish?).  After you switch, tap the "@" key to produce the "@".

@Jackie116 -- Hi, check this for  Chromebook -- (3 websites)

All three of the web-sites point to the use of an "alternate input method", which is exactly what I stated.

On a computer running Windows, holding-down the "Windows" key (bottom left of the keyboard) and tapping the "spacebar" will change to the alternate input-method.

@Jackie116 --  so there is a windows key on a chromebook ? sorry I just saw a model and there was no windows key.

I wrote "on a Windows computer" -- but you missed that qualification.

Please post an image of the keys on the Chromebook's keyboard that shows the keys that are to the left of the "spacebar".

The key on the Chromebook's keyboard that is in approximately the same physical position as the Windows key is on the Windows keyboard is part of the combination of keys to "switch input method", so that "SHIFT-2" produces the desired "@" graphic when the current input method is "US-English" or "UK-English".

You're on your own, if your current input method is "Français".
