Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I was using my hp monitor model HP S 2031 when it changed from normal colors to a screen that has a red background and the icons on the screen are all red or deep pink! It happened while I was using it and I didn’t change anything that I know of.

Hi @July1051,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the display settings or the monitor itself. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check Cable Connections: Ensure that the cable connecting your monitor to your computer is securely plugged in at both ends. Sometimes loose connections can cause display issues.
  • Restart the Computer and Monitor: Sometimes, simply restarting both the computer and the monitor can resolve temporary display issues.
  • Check Display Settings: Go into the display settings on your computer and make sure the color settings are correct. You can also try resetting the display settings to their default values.
  • Test with Another Device: If possible, try connecting the monitor to another device (such as a laptop or another computer) to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem lies with the monitor or the computer.
  • Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can sometimes cause display issues.
  • Reset Monitor Settings: Many monitors have a menu button that allows you to access various settings. Try resetting the monitor settings to their factory defaults.

By following these steps, you should be able to determine the cause of the issue and take appropriate action to resolve it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

That is most likely a hardware failure in the monitor -- but you should connect it to another PC or to a laptop to see if it has the same issue.
