HP 24mh 23.8-inch Display
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP24MH stopped working suddenly.  I replaced the HDMI cable with a new one, downloaded a new driver and rebooted my computer and it still is not working.

Hi @Heeche

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand your HP24mh monitor has stopped working even after replacing the HDMI cable, updating the driver, and rebooting the computer. Let’s go through a structured set of steps to help isolate and resolve the issue:

Power and Connections

  • Ensure the monitor’s power cable is securely connected and the power LED is lit.
  • Confirm the HDMI cable is firmly connected to both the monitor and the computer. Try a different HDMI port on the computer if available.

Input Source Check

  • Use the monitor’s front panel buttons to open the on-screen display (OSD).
  • Verify that the input source is set to HDMI. If it is set to VGA or DisplayPort, switch it to HDMI.

Display Settings on Computer

  • On Windows, right-click the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Check if the monitor is detected. If not, click Detect.
  • If detected but not displaying, adjust the resolution to 1920x1080 at 60Hz, which is the native resolution for HP24mh.

Test with Another Device

  • Connect the monitor to a different computer or a device with HDMI output (such as a laptop or media player).
  • This helps confirm whether the issue lies with the monitor or the original computer.

Reset Monitor Settings

  • Open the OSD menu and look for Factory Reset.
  • Resetting clears any incorrect settings that may prevent display.

Driver and Graphics Card Check

  • Ensure the graphics driver on your computer is fully updated.
  • If your computer has both integrated and dedicated graphics, try switching the HDMI connection between them.

By following these steps, we can systematically determine whether the issue is with the monitor, the cable, or the computer’s configuration. If the monitor works with another device, the focus should be on the computer’s display settings or graphics driver. If it does not display with any device, the monitor itself may need further attention.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
