I want to change the resolution on my monitor but it only has one button which is to power it off so I don’t know how to change it.

Welcome to the HP User to User forum.

With so little information, there is only a limited way to help.  But most times the resolution is adjusted in Windows, assuming the PC is running Windows.

Right click on a blank area on the desktop and pick "Display settings", then resolution.  Resolution should allow the changing of the monitor settings.

For any additional help please post the model number of the PC, the model number of the monitor, and the OS name and version running on the PC
