I have a Pavilion Model # 500-c60. The monitor came with the computer. My computer is working perfect! My monitor works perfect until it has been in use for a good while. Then it starts going to sleep more often until it goes to sleep and mouse movement can’t wake it up. The light on the monitor shows it is on, but it can not be turned off or on. I unplug adapter in back of monitor and it will work perfectly for a while.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums, MKazi is at your service.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion 500-c60 Desktop PC and the monitor that came with the PC goes to sleep. The mouse movement cannot wake up the monitor. The monitor does not power off using it's power button. Not to worry, I'll be glad to assist you with this case.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- What is the exact HP monitor model number. This link will help in finding the model number: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824
- Did any software changes or updates happen prior to this issue?
- Do you have an alternate monitor to connect to the PC and check if it works fine?
Meanwhile, let us perform a monitor self test by following the below steps:
- Shutdown the PC and power off the monitor.
- Disconnect the monitor data cable that is connected to the PC.
- Power on only the monitor (the monitor should be disconnected from the PC at this moment).
- The monitor should display a message as "no input signal detected", "check input video", etc. If the monitor displays these kind of messages without going to sleep, indicates that the monitor is working fine.
- This is a called a self test of the monitor.
Hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes. I'm always here to assist you.
Good luck! 🙂
