The onscreen monitor menu is permanently displayed, and covers 25% of the screen. If I try to dismiss it with the monitor buttons, it begins to cycle continuously through the options.

Hi @Sean964,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the onscreen display (OSD) menu is malfunctioning, possibly due to stuck or faulty buttons, or a firmware issue with your HP V27i FHD Monitor. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the problem.
Check for Stuck Buttons
- Physically inspect the monitor buttons to ensure none are stuck. You can try pressing each button gently a few times to see if this dislodges any debris or resets the issue.
Power Cycle the Monitor
- Turn off the monitor.
- Unplug it from the power source and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on. See if the OSD is still stuck on the screen.
Factory Reset the Monitor
- If possible, reset the monitor to factory settings:
- Press the Menu button and navigate to the Settings option.
- Find Factory Reset and confirm the reset.
- This may clear any OSD settings causing the issue.
Check for Firmware Updates
- Visit the HP Support website and search for your HP V27i FHD Monitor to see if there are any firmware updates or drivers that may address OSD issues.
Try a Different Input Source
- Switch the input source (HDMI, VGA, etc.) to see if the issue persists across different input modes. This can help rule out issues with a specific connection.
Disconnect and Reconnect the Monitor
- Disconnect the monitor from the PC or other device, then reconnect it. Sometimes, a glitch in the video signal can cause monitor controls to act unpredictably.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
