HP Mini-In-One 24 Display
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased this display to add Zoom support to my wife's PC.  I am now on my 3rd one after sending the previous 2 back to Newegg.  The one thing I can't get to work is the camera.  The computer recognizes it, but no video.

The small intel PC has no USB 3.0 ports, just USB 2.0 ports.  The monitor has a USB Type-B upstream port to tie all of it's ports to the PC, and I assume the camera, but nothing in the specs call for it to be a USB 3.0 port..

The manual:

To provide USB downstream support for the monitor, connect the Type-B connector on the USB upstream cable to the USB Type-B upstream port on the rear of the monitor. Then connect the cable’s Type-A connector to the USB Type-A downstream port on the source device.

Any ideas?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Double-click Imaging Devices to expand the list of webcam drivers. If the HP Webcam-101 or Microsoft USB Video Device is listed, right-click the driver and select Update Driver Software and follow the on-screen instructions. Restart your computer, and open your webcam software to see if the problem is resolved.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

It finds no other drivers online and it is on the highest update.  It is using the standard USB Video Device driver.

Going to HP support, I find  no drivers on their site.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

The only part of this system that is HP is the monitor.  The Support Assistant app does not see the monitor or webcam.

Eureka!!!  That was it.

You would think that HP would ship the monitor with the camera ON!  I checked the documentation and they referred to the "webcam shutter" once in the documentation ONCE.

Now if I can solve the problem with the flaky power supply when every day I have to pull out the power connector and push it back in to stop the monitor from blinking on and off!

Thanks.

What is the exact issue with the power supply? Does monitor flickers while power supply is removed or moved?

I will normally happen when I reposition the monitor up or down.  It also has happened after the monitor has been off overnight and it has not been moved at all.  It will flicker on and off in no pattern.

I remove the plug and then very firmly plug it back in.  It usually does not happen again that day.  I have had the monitor for 5 days and today was the first day it did not do it.

I am glad to know that you managed to resolve the issue. Let's keep this computer under observation. Just to make sure, I can keep this case open for a day and check with you after 48 hours.

Have a nice day ahead.
