Envy 23

I have an HP Envy 23 that turns on and you can hear the fans but there is no display. It is just a black screen. Nothing happens to the screen at all. I’ve taken my ram card out and put it back In. I’ve replaced my cmos battery. I’ve tried to reset the bios. I took the graphics card in and out. I don’t know what to do at this point. I think it may be the graphics card that is doing this but I have no other pc to test the card on. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I took the graphics card in and out.

Those are the two most-likely points of failure. The next three are:

* power-supply failure

* processor failure

* motherboard failure

I definitely would try your video-card in a friend (or family member) computer, because the only "cost" is your invested time. Next, I would try with only one stick of RAM connected (assuming that your computer has more than one). Next, I would try a different video-card.

Beyond, that, it's time to take the computer to a qualified computer technician, for professional trouble-shooting.
