I was given an HP 2710M monitor, but when i connect it to my computer (as screen 2), it gives a 640x480p resolution even though it supports 1920x1080. ive tried updating the drivers, replacing the hdmi cable, restarting, factory resetting (the monitor) and changing the resolution but to no avail. i am on windows 11

That monitor only has driver support up to Windows 7.

I recommend that you try manually installing the W7 monitor driver because running the auto install on W11 may not work.

I have extracted the driver from the exe file, zipped it up and attached it below.

To manually install the driver, download and unzip the attached file to its folder.

Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager.

Click to expand the Monitors device manager category.

Click on the Generic PnP monitor listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

I followed your step by step guide, however after selecting sp47354 as a file and clicking next, it shows i already have the best drivers installed :/.

Then there is nothing else you can do.

As, I posted above the monitor is very old and only had support for XP, Vista and W7.

It sounds like more of a graphics driver problem to me than a monitor driver problem.

The monitor should be able to provide the resolutions stated in the specs with the W7 driver installed.
