Hi @Lb_01,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with the keyboard on your Chromebook.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.
Kindly refer to the below steps to fix it and let me know if that resolves the issue.
Restart the Chromebook:
- Hold down the Power button until the device turns off, then turn it back on.
Check for physical issues:
- Inspect the keyboard for stuck keys or debris.
- Clean the keyboard using a can of compressed air.
Use an external keyboard:
- Connect a USB or Bluetooth keyboard to check if the issue is specific to the built-in keyboard.
Reset the Chromebook hardware:
- Press and hold Refresh (circular arrow key) + Power for about 10 seconds to reset hardware.
Check the keyboard settings:
- Go to Settings > Device > Keyboard and ensure the keys are mapped correctly.
Update Chrome OS:
- Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates.
Test in Guest Mode:
- Log out and sign in as a Guest to see if the problem persists.
Perform a Powerwash (factory reset):
- Backup important files stored locally.
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset Settings > Powerwash.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
