Hello everybody,
I own a HP 22xi monitor.
This is a very trouble monitor cause it presents different kind of problems.
When I plug the power cable the monitor is immediately on with the white button: sometime I see the desktop AND the OSD screen, but when I press the buttons nothing happen.
Sometime the 'Monitor status' window looks for a source, no signal found (the VGA is connected) , the window stays on the screen but nothing happen when I press the buttons; after some minute the monitor goes to sleep but the power button stays white (sometime orange..).
Sometime after a while the monitor goes into the Power block, if a press the power button for 10 secs nothing change.
Every time I need to power down by the power cable.
Checked with some kind of PCs, OSes and cables, both principal and secondary monitor, both VGA and DVI ports.
Any idea?

Good day. Thank you for posting your query in the HP community. I will be happy to assist you here. Great presentation of the situation and kudos to you for that.
- Did it occur after a power outage or surge?
It looks like a hardware issue with the monitor. Let's try these steps now:
Perform all the relevant steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-21-inch-displays/7274716/model/5304237/document/c00... (HP and Compaq Flat Panel Monitors - Flat Panel Monitor Displays Message about No Signal, Signal out of Range, Sleep, or Power Save)
Now check if the issue gets resolved.
If the issue persists, then perform all the relevant steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-21-inch-displays/7274716/model/5304237/document/c01... (HP Flat Panel LCD Monitors - Monitor is Blank)
Now check if the issue gets resolved. If it continues, then the monitor is faulty and needs to be replaced. I am being honest about it here by keeping your best interest in mind.
I will send you a private message to assist you with the next course of action. Check your forum private message box in the upper right corner next to the bell icon.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
