Pavilion All-in-One 27-XA0590ND
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good afternoon,

Recently I bought an HP Pavilion All-in-One 27-XA0590ND, but since it had Windows 10 Home pre-installed, I did a fresh installation of Win 10 Pro.

I have the following issue though: my Touchscreen does not work.

Windows device management shows one unknown device, with the following hardware ID's:

ACPI\VEN_HPIC&DEV_0003

ACPI\HPIC0003

*HPIC0003

Is the unknown device causing my Touchscreen not to function?

Any help will be very much appriciated.

Regards,

Frank

Hi, Frank:

I have zipped up and attached the driver file you need for that device, below.

Unzip the file to its folder.  Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager.  Click on the ACPI\HPIC0003 device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

I don't know what that device is for, so hopefully that will get the touchscreen to work again.

Paul,

Thank you for your quick reply!

The Unknown device has been fixed now, thank you for the driver.

However the touchscreen is still not working 😞

Do I need special software to make it work?

Frank

You're very welcome, Frank.

As far as I am aware, there isn't any special software or drivers needed for the touchscreen to work, other than the Intel chipset installation utlity, and nVidia graphics drivers.

Paul,

Again, thank you for your quick reply.

I have installed the chipset (from HP site) and nVidia graphic drivers (from nVidia site), but still the touch screen is not working.

Did I install the wrong drivers?

Or could you tell me which exact drivers to install?

Frank

Hi, Frank:

I would have installed the ones from the support page...especially the graphics.

Here is the support page for your PC...

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-27-xa0000-all-in-one-desktop-pc-series/...

Chipset:

Graphics:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92501-93000/sp92725.exe

Paul,

Thanks again for your quick reply.

That is the support pade I used for all other drivers, inculding the chipset.

I donwloaded the nVidia driver (sp92725.exe), but it will not install.

Even after uninstalling the previous driver I used from the nVidia site.

I will try a clean installation and let you know if that worked.

Frank

You're very welcome, Frank.

I'm surprised the graphics driver on the support page didn't work.

Paul,

I did a fresh installation and after installing the WLAN drivers I used HP Support Assistant to download the other (missing drivers).

Most of the drivers are getting instyalled correctly, however 3 drivers will just not install:

Missing Drivers (which will not install)Missing Drivers (which will not install)

If I use the Installation option - using HP Support Assistant:

Failed Installation nVidia

Using seperate SPxxxx installation files, downloaded from HP site:

Error Message 1Error Message 1Error Message 2Error Message 2

It's getting weirder by the minute.

Frank

Yes, it sure is.

According to the specs page for your PC, the Intel graphics is supposed to be disabled if there is a discrete video adapter installed...which there is since the specs state your PC has the nVidia graphics adapter.

So, I can understand why the Intel graphics won't install, but I don't understand why the Support Assistant is even providing those drivers.

When you go to the device manage, and click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category, how many display adapters are listed there...one or two?
