Pavilion 570-p030
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just set-up out of the box with dual monitors and only the VGA port is working.

Both/either monitors work fine on the VGA cable.

No signal from the HDMI port using different HDMI cables on either monitor.

Unfortunately this new PC sat on our shelf for the last year before unboxing, so it's long out of warranty.

Is there anything I can do to fix the HDMI on the motherboard, or will I have to buy a video card and power supply to get dual monitors on this box now?

Hi @JMMacLeod

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try these steps -

1) If Windows is open, click Start, and then click Shutdown.
If Windows is not open and the computer is connected to a power outlet, press and hold the Power button on the computer until the computer turns off.
2) Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
3) With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.
4) With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the Power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the Power button might turn on briefly but then go out.
5) Reconnect the power cord and press the Power button to turn on the computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
6) If a Startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, then press Enter.
7) Reconnect each of the peripheral devices.

Also, try updating the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Let me know how that goes.
