The white areas/screens on my brand new Pavilion laptop display aren't white. Instead, white areas have a light greenish blue tint. I've tried to adjust the display colors using all the options I can find for system settings. Nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Hi @MarshaP1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The light greenish-blue tint you're describing on your Pavilion laptop's display may indicate an issue with the color calibration, display settings, or the physical display itself. Here are some steps you can try to address the issue:

1. Reset Display Color Settings

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down and click Advanced display settings > Display adapter properties.
  • In the pop-up window, navigate to the Color Management tab and click Color Management.
  • In the new window, go to the Advanced tab and click Calibrate display. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset or adjust color calibration.

2. Update or Reinstall Display Drivers

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters and right-click on your graphics card.
  • Select Update driver and choose Search automatically for drivers.
  • If the issue persists, uninstall the driver and restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
  • Alternatively, visit the HP support website or the graphics card manufacturer’s website (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA) to download and install the latest driver.

3. Check Night Light and Other Display Modes

  • Go to Settings > System > Display.
  • Ensure Night light is turned off.
  • Check for any custom display profiles or settings under Graphics settings.

4. Update the BIOS and windows

  • Update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link.

Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.

Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.

Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

  • Install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps.

go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.

5. Test the Display with an External Monitor

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI or USB-C cable.
  • Check if the white areas display correctly on the external monitor. If they do, the issue might be with your laptop's display panel.

6. Factory Reset Display Settings

  • Some laptops come with dedicated software like HP Display Control or third-party tools (e.g., Intel Graphics Command Center, AMD Radeon Software).
  • Open the software and look for options to reset to factory defaults.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
