Power lockout message

HP Recommended
HP ZR2240w

I have an issue where the power lockout message will appear. I have attempted a monitor reset and holding down the power button for 10 seconds. nothing has worked. Except when I hold down the menu button until it disappears but when I let go it comes back on and soon turns off the monitor. I need help urgent as it is Christmas time and I have plans so any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Elliot14

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

This message occurs when the Power button on the top of the monitor is pressed for more than 10 seconds. OSD lockout prevents the OSD menu from opening on the screen when a button is accidentally pressed.

To remove the OSD Lockout message, release the Power button (if something was pressing against it), and press and hold the button again for about 10 seconds, until the message goes away. If the OSD Lockout message does not go away, the button may be stuck or the hardware behind the button might have become defective.

For more info, refer to page 19 of the user manual.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
