HP Elite Display S340C 34" curved monitor

I cannot seem to get my display to go full screen with this monitor when presenting a PowerPoint presentation. Is there anything I can do to take full advantage of the full-screen mode to prevent the black spaces to the left and right of the presentation?

@KymberliB -- within Microsoft Edge, if you press the "F11" key, does Edge go into full-screen mode, without any blackness on the sides?

I don't see that I have Microsoft Edge with our company and tried hitting the F11 key in PowerPoint, but nothing happened. I'm still getting significant black areas on both sides of the screen. Are there any other solutions I can try, aside from changing the slide size (which messes up all the content)?
