Problem with 22er Monitor

HP Recommended
22er Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I turn on my PC the monitor does not recognize that it is connected by HDMI cable and I have to switch from VGA mode to HDMI mode manually by pressing the bottom button of the monitor several times to display the HDMI option and again to activate it, which is very annoying.
I have attached this video to show the problem. Is there a solution to this or is my monitor which arrived with this failure?
Thanks for your help

@EdieFisher Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing an issue with the monitor.

Have you tried to change the HDMI cable?

  1. Cycle the power on the monitor as follows:

    1. Turn off the monitor. The power light on the monitor should be off. Leave the computer turned on.

    2. Unplug the power cord.

    3. Wait 5 seconds.

    4. Plug in the power cord.

    5. Press the power button on the monitor to turn on the monitor.

      One of two things happens:

      • The image from the computer displays on the monitor and you can use the computer again. This indicates that the monitor was unable to detect that the computer had awakened from suspend mode. Turn the monitor off when it is not being used or disable suspend mode on the computer. For some computers, updating the BIOS can correct these types of suspend problems.

        OR

      • The power light on the monitor comes on but the screen displays one of the messages again. The monitor is not receiving a video signal from the computer that it can detect and use. Continue using these steps.

  2. If the computer is on, wait until the hard drive activity light on the computer is not lit and then press and hold the Power button on the computer case until the computer turns off.

  3. If the monitor has a factory reset or restore option, set it. Press the Menu button on the front panel and select Factory Reset.

  4. Wait 5 seconds and then turn on the computer by pressing the Power button again.

Hi, thanks for answering. I did what you advised me to take the monitor to factory mode and now it goes into sleep mode and the light turns orange but it doesn't recognize the Hdmi mode either and I have to do it again manually by pressing the button several times.

Is there anything else I can do?
I find it hard to believe that it doesn't automatically switch from Vga to Hdmi mode. Another option is that my monitor has a failure.
What do you think?

@EdieFisher

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you conatct our phoen support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Or you can conatct the local service center for repair.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
