Hey Stavrosv52,
I need to look at what was installed on your computer at the time of build. I would need the serial number. Before we begin, please review the HP Privacy Statement . Then send it to me in a private message.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, it didn't work. I found my product (Touchsmart 300-1025gr) and downloaded the SP44371 (Windows 7, 64). When I run it, I got the message "Your system does not meet the operating system requirements. Update has been cancelled (9998)" Any other ideas?

Hey Stavrosv52,
Try this fix from Microsoft.
Method 1: Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled and is set as default.
Make sure that the microphone that you are using is not disabled and is set as default in the computer. Follow these steps to check this:
Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.
Now, right click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.
Select “Microphone” and click on “Properties” and make sure that the microphone is enabled.
You may also check if the microphone that you are using is set as default.
Step 1: Check the Windows updates for any latest driver updates.
Check in Windows updates if any driver updates are available. If so, install the same and check if it helps.
Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys from the keyboard.
Type “Updates” in the search bar and click on “Install optional updates” from the left pane.
From the “Windows Update” window, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates and install all the updates listed there.
Let me know how this goes.
Thanks.

Hey Stavrosv52,
Try this fix from Microsoft, In Control Panel, click on Device Manager, click on the View menu tab, select Show hidden devices, and click on Audio inputs and outputs.
Alternatively, open the Run dialog box or Command Prompt and type devmgmt.msc to open Device Manager.
If this does not work you will have to do a system restore.
Thanks.
