I'm trying to display my lenovo x240 laptop onto the monitor of my HP All-In-One touchscreen display. I have to use a VGA to HDMI adapter cable as the laptop doesn't have an HDMI port. The lenovo is operating Windows 7 while the HP All-In-One is operating on Windos 10.
When I connect cable to the HDMI-In port and change the setting of the computer to "HDMI-In", turning the display into a monitor the following message is displayed on the monitor "No HDMI-In Signal".
Am I able to display my laptop on the touch screen display through the VGA to HDMI adapter cable?

Hi @JRBMBB
Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
I have gone through your Post and i see that you are trying to project your Lenovo x 240 to your HP All-In-One 27-r014 touchscreen display
I'd like to help.
Not every HP Pavilion 27-r014 All-in-One Desktop PC has the HDMI IN port.. The configuration might vary depending on your Model since every HP Pavilion 27-r014 All-in-One Desktop Series Vary.
Does your AIO Desktop has an HDMI In or HDMI Out Port? Or both?
If Your AIO has the HDMI In Port, please press the HDMI source button after connecting the cables
Keep me posted how it goes. Have you tried that VGA HDMI adapter on other computers?
Thank you 🙂

Hi @KrazyToad -
The AIO does have both HDMI-In and HDMI-Out ports. I have connected all the cables and hit the HDMI source button and that is when the following message is displayed on the AIO monitor screen "No HDMI Signal-In".
The VGA to HDMI adapter cable is brand new, now it may be defective but that would not be my first assumption.
When using the adapter, is there a specific setting I need to have turned on/off on the Lenovo laptop?
Thanks -

As @KrazyToad is out for the day, I am responding on his behalf.Specactular research and superb troubleshooting skills were displayed before posting. It is also great to have you back. your time, commitment and efforts are greatly appreciated. Kudos to you for a job well done. 🙂 Please connect a different computer if you have one via the HDMI-in port of the AIO and check if it works correctly. This will isolate the issue perfectly.
If the problems continue, then the HDMI port of the AIO is faulty. Please, contact HP phone support to get the AIO repaired.
HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://hp.care/2moMFSc

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.
If the AIO extends the display of the different notebook correctly, then this adapter is faulty. Please replace the adapter. This is the best way to isolate the issue.
Good luck and keep me posted.
