HP ENVY All-in-One 24-n050nt
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I bought a HP Envy AIO last year. I'm using as home pc as gaming or surfing & watching videos etc.

However a big problem started this year with windows 10 update pack.

Computer's screen randomly blanking while surfing internet or watching videos even working with all other softwares like MS Office aps...

I search and look everywhere on the internet for fixing this problem but no chance till now.

I tried all these steps till now :

1. Format & install fresh windows 10 , Windows 8.1 setup ....

2. Turn off auto-updates in both (windows 10 and windows 8.1 versions)

3. Download and install old-drivers from Intel's and AMD's pages...

4. Clean all drivers and re-install new drivers from Intel and AMD...

5. Remove and disable all startup applications (even fresh installs)

6. Set power-plan to "Performance" and all graphics setups set to "Maximum Performance" (Intel HD and AMD Manager consoles)

7. Disable all enviroment devices in bios

etc.etc....

I tried lots of variations to fix it since last month, but problem always continue...

My Computer specs like this :

Model : HP ENVY All-in-One - 24-n050nt

intel i7 6700T processor with intel HD graphics 530 GPU

AMD R7 A365 (m370) GPU as secondary

16GB DDR3 ram

1TB Disk

24" Touchscreen display

Screen not blinking while graphic's drivers are not installed with fresh windows install.

But its starting ramdomly when I install intel HD graphics driver + AMD Radeon driver package.

Please help me , its very annoying experiment since last month.

I resolved finally by following steps. I 'm sharing solution for other community users:

1. install fresh windows 10 64 bit as UEFI boot.

2. disable automatic updates + driver updates by group policy before internet connection immediately !

3. download all drivers from hp product page for my computer model.

4. firstly apply bios and firmware updates then install all drivers step by step except graphic drivers.

5. installing old intel hd graphics driver (ver. 20.19.15.4360 21/12/2015 date)

6. installing old AMD catalyst driver (ver. 15.200.1055 6/7/2015 date)

(Its very important, new drivers still blinking and flickering on my tests, so use old drivers exactly)

7. found HP Envy 24" IPS monitor driver from another source and installing it as extra.

8. Installing HP My Display application as extra.

then annoying blinking problem gone forever !

I'm using my computer since last 3 days for long hours and testing all hard works without any problem.

Absolutely no any blinking or any other screen problem till now for all day tests.

Best Regards.

@Amiga1200,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the screen is blinking randomly.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Awesome job on diagnosing the issue correctly and performing smart troubleshooting before posting your question on HP forums. Kudos to you on that score.

I recommend you update the BIOS on the computer from the below link and check if it resolves the issue.

If you continue to face the issue, I recommend you boot to BIOS by tapping the F10 key on startup and check whether the issue persists in BIOS.

If the issue doesn’t persist in BIOS then follow the below steps.

To update the driver with Windows Update:

  1. Connect the computer to the internet.
  2. Click on Start.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Update & security.
  5. Select Windows Updates.
  6. Select Check for updates.
  7. Windows Update will download and install the drivers automatically.

To update the driver in Device Manager:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Locate the AMD VGA device.
  3. Right-click on the AMD VGA device.
  4. Select Update Driver Software.
  5. Follow the on onscreen instructions to update the driver.
  6. Close Device Manager when the driver update is complete.

NOTE: Repeat the steps for intel driver as well.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
