I have an older HP desktop (Pavilion Elite HPE-170t) running Windows 10 with an Intel i7 processor. It has a Nvidia GeForce GT 220 graphics card which is not capable of providing 1920x1080 resolution. I am interested in upgrading to a 1920x1080 monitor but know I will have to upgrade my graphics card as well. I do not do gaming and am not interested in using multiple monitors, however I can purchase a HP Nvidia Quadro NVS 295 PCI-E 256mb GDDR3 card at a very reasonable price. My problem is I have no idea if this card will work in my older HP computer. And, if it will, can I simply plug it in and use it or, am I going to have to make other changes to the computer to get it to work. I can provide more information about my desktop if needed. Your help will be appreciated.
