A couple months ago I booted my computer and found the resolution had changed to 1024x768. I tried to increase the display resolution under display settings but found the only options were 1024x768 and 800x600.
This monitor is supposed to support up to 2560x1440 (and it had been for years).
I've tried the monitor with multiple desktops, multiple graphics cards, multiple hdmi cables, Windows 10, and Windows 11, all resulted in the same behavior, so it is most definitely an issue with the monitor.
I believe the monitor is no longer reporting its supported resolutions correctly.
If I plug my desktop into another monitor, for example, one that supports 1920x1080, then I plug it straight into my HP Omen, it will actually render at 1920x1080 without issue, because my desktop is still using the supported resolutions that the first monitor reported. So the hardware itself seems totally fine, it's just my computer doesn't know what resolutions it can support, so it defaults to 1024x768.
This seems like something that would be easily fixed by installing the correct drivers, but the HP support site does not have any drivers available for download for this monitor. See: OMEN by HP 27 Display Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
I've tried a few of the drivers meant for other HP Omen monitors, but as you could guess, none of them worked.
Again, I'm pretty sure all I need is the drivers for this specific device (product number Z4D33AA).
This monitor was working perfectly for me for years, and like mentioned, it doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with it from a hardware perspective.
I'm mostly hoping an HP representative will see this, find the drivers for this product, and send them to me or update the website to include them.
Thank you kindly,
Jeran

Hi @jeranfox,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with changing the resolution on your HP monitor.
-Perform a power drain on your PC.
1) Unplug the power cord from the wall.
2) Disconnect the power cable from the AC adapter if it is a detachable part and keep it aside.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the AC adapter, then connect it to the wall and to the charging port on your monitor.
5) Power on the monitor and check if it works now.
-Update the BIOS for your PC/laptop by clicking on the link.
Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.
Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.
Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
-Install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps and let me know if that resolves the issue.
Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.
- If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Hi Irwin6, thanks for the response. Unfortunately none of the suggested solutions worked. I tried holding the power button down for 15 seconds while the power was detached, waited 30 seconds, then plugged everything back in. Unfortunately there was no change.
I tried to follow steps to update the BIOS, but it told me I already had the most recent version. Also like mentioned, I've reproduced this behavior on multiple desktop PCs, so it's unlikely to be an issue with the PC.
The last link just contains directions to set the display resolution from the Windows display settings. The issue, however, is that the display settings page does not have the option to use any resolutions higher than 1024x768.
Is there any chance you'd be able to see if HP has downloadable drivers for this monitor? Like mentioned, the support page does not seem to have them for some reason: OMEN by HP 27 Display Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
Thanks again,
Jeran
