Hi @MHB9,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Pavilion 15-cs3077nr is experiencing screen flickering after upgrading to Windows 11. This issue can sometimes be caused by driver compatibility, display settings, or hardware problems. Here are some steps you can try to resolve it:

1. Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters, right-click on your graphics driver (e.g., Intel or AMD), and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the instructions.
  • If you're already using the latest drivers, try rolling back the driver to the previous version:
    • Right-click on your graphics driver in Device Manager, select Properties, go to the Driver tab, and click Roll Back Driver (if available).

2. Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, Microsoft releases updates to fix compatibility issues with new versions of Windows.
  • Go to Settings > Windows Update, and check for any pending updates. Install any updates and restart your computer.

3. Disable Hardware Acceleration:

  • Some applications use hardware acceleration, which can sometimes cause flickering.
  • Open Settings and go to System > Display.
  • Scroll down to Graphics settings and turn off hardware acceleration for apps if the option is available.

4. Adjust Refresh Rate:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down and click on Advanced display settings.
  • Check if the refresh rate is set correctly (typically 60 Hz for most displays). You can try lowering it to see if it resolves the flickering.

5. Check for Corrupted System Files:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator (right-click Start, choose Command Prompt (Admin)).
  • Type the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow
  • This will scan and repair any corrupted system files that could be causing issues.

6. Check Display Cables (If Using an External Monitor):

  • If you're using an external monitor, make sure the cables are securely connected and undamaged.

7. Disable Fast Startup:

  • Fast Startup can sometimes cause problems after an OS upgrade. To disable it:
    • Open Control Panel and go to Power Options.
    • Click on Choose what the power buttons do on the left side.
    • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
    • Scroll down and uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
    • Save changes and restart your laptop.

8. Reinstall Windows 11:

  • If none of the above steps help, consider reinstalling Windows 11 to fix any upgrade-related issues. You can reset Windows 11 by going to Settings > System > Recovery, and choosing to reset your PC (make sure to back up your data first).

9. Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Shut down the laptop, unplug the power cable, and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Reinsert the battery, plug in the charger, and power on the laptop.

10. Check for Hardware Issues:

  • If the flickering persists, it could be a hardware issue with the screen or the graphics card. In that case, contacting HP support for further assistance may be necessary.
