@Rupesh619, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 (4V9Y1AV) experiencing screen flickering and blanking out when using the camera or video-related applications is likely due to one of the following issues:

Possible Causes & Solutions

Check for Driver Issues

Your display and camera drivers might be outdated or corrupted.

  • Update Display Drivers:
  1. Open Device Manager (Press Win + X → Select Device Manager).
  2. Expand Display adapters and right-click your graphics driver (Intel/AMD/NVIDIA).
  3. Click Update driverSearch automatically for drivers.
  4. If the issue persists, right-click and choose Uninstall device, then restart the laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
  • Update Camera Driver:
  1. In Device Manager, expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  2. Right-click the camera driver and select Update driver.
  3. If updating doesn’t work, Uninstall device and restart the PC.

Check for Windows Updates

  1. Go to SettingsWindows Update and check for updates.
  2. Install any pending updates, especially for drivers and system stability.

Disable Hardware Acceleration (For Chrome, Edge, WhatsApp, etc.)

  • In Google Chrome:
  1. Open Chrome → Click ⋮ (3 dots menu)Settings.
  2. Go to System → Turn off Use hardware acceleration when available.
  3. Restart Chrome.
  • For Microsoft Edge & WhatsApp Web, disable hardware acceleration in their settings too.

Adjust Graphics Settings

  • Go to SettingsSystemDisplayGraphics settings.
  • Under Choose an app to set preference, add Google Meet/Chrome/WhatsApp and set them to Power Saving mode.

Check Power Settings

  • Open Control PanelPower Options.
  • Set to High Performance instead of Power Saver.

Run Hardware Diagnostics

HP laptops have built-in hardware diagnostics:

  1. Shut down your laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press F2 repeatedly until the HP Hardware Diagnostics menu appears.
  3. Run a System Test and check for display-related errors.

Test in Safe Mode

  • Restart the laptop in Safe Mode (Shift + Restart → Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings → Enable Safe Mode).
  • Try opening a camera app. If no flickering happens, a third-party driver might be causing the issue.

Perform a Clean Boot

  • Open Run (Win + R), type msconfig, and press Enter.
  • Go to the Services tab → Check Hide all Microsoft services → Click Disable all.
  • Go to the Startup tab → Open Task Manager → Disable unnecessary startup apps.
  • Restart and check if the issue persists.

Check for BIOS/Firmware Updates

Visit HP Support → Enter your laptop model → Download and install any available BIOS or firmware updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
